Common questions that are being asked regarding the proposed data center about power, gas, water, and connectivity. 

A data center is, at bottom, a utility customer of unusual size. The questions the Commission will hear most often concern electricity, water, and who pays for what. 

Here is the current state of each:

Electric service: Evergy

The project cleared Evergy's initial "Path to Power" screening, executed an Initial Project Activities Agreement, funded the queue deposit, and entered the Southwest Power Pool study process. Evergy's initial study calls for a new 345 kV customer substation on site, tapping the Morris County to Emporia 345 kV line, at an order-of-magnitude cost of about $50 million and a lead time of 36 to 48 months from execution of the project agreement. Placement in Evergy's queue will require a commitment from an end user.
